A pair of sterling silver drop earrings. This whimsical and quite wonderfully made and designed earrings are not for the feint of heart! They feature a sweet looking older lady on one side holding her handbag in hat and warm winter coat, while the other earring is a archetypal man flashing in the long macintosh coat, wide brimmed hat, shoes and socks, and very little else!
Each figure has been hand cut out of sheet sterling, then the detail of arms and clothing have either been hand cut and added to the base silhouette of the figures, or hand engraved into the sterling.
The artist, jeweller, that created these wonderful earrings has not been determined. They are each stamped "Sterling" on the reverse side. A search to find anything similar has proven unsuccessful meaning that these were likely either one of a kind commission, or made in very limited quantities by a bench jeweller.
